Technician (Skillbridge Opportunity)
Posted on: Jul 26, 2024Begin your career in the Heavy Equipment Industry through an internship period that gives service members the opportunity to gain valuable civilian work experience during the last 180 days of service.
You might be surprised by how rewarding a career can be in the private sector as an equipment repair technician. Our Skillbridge program focuses on introducing Service Members to what their lives could look like in the Heavy Equipment Industry after their service commitment is up. A technician in our industry typically works 0700 to 1500 each day, with weekends and evenings off. We service a huge variety of customers with an array of equipment ranging from small electric forklifts to full size excavators, warehouse scrubbers to telescopic skid steers. During the internship period, you will get hands on training and experience with all types of equipment. You will learn the ins and outs of how a heavy equipment dealership operates. We are not an enormous corporate entity. We are people focused, team oriented, and take pride in our work.
This internship is designed to lead to employment if you and Norlift decide it is a good fit for both parties. We want to hire aspiring technicians who love people, know how to work hard, and hold themselves accountable to a high standard of integrity. Don’t know how to repair a forklift yet? That’s okay. We will teach you. We are looking for the character and aptitude you learned while growing up or in the United States Military. We can train the skills. You bring the integrity, work ethic, and ambition. There is a stable, fulfilling, and family friendly career for you at Norlift.
You will be afforded time for your transition appointments. Completing your Skillbridge program will give you a priority hiring status for any open positions. We also pledge to help you find a career with one of our industry partners.
